I know this has been asked before in a slightly different manner but I’ll ask again and specify that if anyone can help I’d appreciate responses as if you were responding to your great grandfather who doesn’t know much about computers or is up on all the technical terminology. I have a 2TB Time Capsule where I have my iTunes music library stored and where I’d like to add my photo library. No problems using it wirelessly when I also used the TC as my router.

My situation is such that I now access the internet on an existing, PC based network. I don’t want to use my TC as a router but would like to wirelessly access my music library, photo library, and do backups using Time Machine.
Guessing it will be much faster to do the backups using an ethernet cable and am willing to set my backup schedule for overnight when I recharge my MacBook and it will be close to the TC. I’d still like wireless access to my music. For now I have the flashing amber light on the TC. Any suggestions? Piggyback it via ethernet to the existing router? Connect the TC to the existing router using a permanent Ethernet cable connection.

I'll look into the advice on not using the Time Capsule as a location for my iPhoto library. Guessing the same applies to a library using Aperture?
I'm new to RAW files but plan on using them now that I've upgraded to a better camera. Not sure what you mean exactly by 'working' library but I'll check out the iPhoto support area. Need to go to the store and buy an ethernet cable as I just brought my MacBook down to Peru from the US and didn't bring any cables. Your suggestion sounds like it will solve my backup issue but will I still be able to wirelessly access my music library when I wander around the house with my MacBook? My internal HD is only 160GB. Not enough to hold all of my music. Not sure what you mean exactly by 'working' library but I'll check out the iPhoto support area This would be the 'main' library that the iPhoto application communicates with when you open iPhoto.
